Light Music Club-“HANIFES”, a joint live performance with Honjo Higashi High School
On February 18, 2025 by SasakiOn Sunday, February 16th, the light music club participated in the joint live concert “The 5th HANIFES” hosted by Honjo Higashi High School.
Although the event was held at a school in northern Saitama, far from our school, there are few schools that are willing to hold a joint live concert (similar to a practice match for sports clubs) these days, and it is a very welcome opportunity for a school in the western district, so much so that the term “joint live concert refugees” has been used to describe this highly competitive area.
We would love to hold a joint live concert at our school, but the reality is that many schools, like ours, have short practice times due to soundproofing of the facility, or are forced to give up due to the number of people they can accommodate, which is a common problem for many schools with light music clubs. The significance of holding a joint live concert is that it allows students to deepen their friendships with students from other schools who they would not normally have contact with, get hints on how to improve their skills by watching other bands perform, raise their motivation, and relieve some of the tension they may feel when participating in a competition.
This time, three bands participated from our school: the second-year band [seRECt], the mixed band of first- and second-year students [Stellar teal], and the first-year band [Terro-Rhythm], resulting in a total of 15 bands from five schools performing live.
It was impressive to see all the participating students enjoying the live performance to the fullest, while listening to the other bands’ performances and thinking about things like “Is there anything we can learn from this as reference?”, “How do the other bands’ performances compare to ours?” and “How can we get the audience excited?”

The Light Music Club will continue to aim for top prizes in various competitions, practice daily in preparation for performances at various domestic and international events, joint live shows, and other such performances, in the pursuit of music that everyone can enjoy listening to.
